COMPUTER HARDWARE! :D

Want to upgrade your computer without any hiccups? Easy there's a few thing you can do for your old rugged computer to extend it's lifespan and making it more reliable! Here's a few steps and facts you have to keep in your head!

1.Hardware
-When it comes to replacing old graphic cards and memory MAKE sure the frequency of the hardware matches your motherboard i.e : If your processor is a 800MHZ make sure you're buying a DDR2 or a 800MHZ chip because if you do get a DDR3 for a 800 MHZ it's going to run at half or 3/4 of the potential power .

-Get a graphic card that can dual channel . Why? Because if you're budget is tight you can always get 1 then another 1 to dual channel with later on so that you don't have to buy 2 solo running cards thus making it cheaper , better and more efficient in your computer!

-Always remember if you're going to change the processor or the motherboard you mind as well buy a new computer because you're basically replacing everything in it due to the fact that if you're buying a new processor or a new motherboard or both you'd mind as well just buy a new computer because let's face it who does not buy a DDR3 capable processor or a motherboard to replace your old rugged DDR2? When you do get it , you'll realize all your old DDR2 hardware are now going to run like rubbish being cluttered all over the floor when you put two incompatible running hardware together!!!

2.Financial
-Be patient when it comes to hardware shopping , bear in mind that computer parts are cheaper in the annual PC fair which happens in Malaysia every 2-4 months so therefore you should buy from PC fair because it's 20%-70% cheaper than buying retail , 15%-35% cheaper than direct manufacturer.

-Always know that when it comes to buying hardware know what you need and don't need for example never doubt an extra fan when it comes to buying more power consuming hardware for you'll never know how cool they have to be to run at 100% efficiency , another example is buying 2 1 GB ram when getting a 1 2GB ram is much better because there will be more PCI slots although much expansive but in the investment in making your hardware less space consuming makes it much more vast for upgrades!

-Don't be too cheap when it comes to buying hardware know that expansive parts have more longevity than cheap useless parts like for example buy a Kingston ram instead of some cheap China brand chip because it's better to rely on veteran chip makers than to use some useless sound-so-cool brand chip! Trust me on this for you'll never know when you'll get conned for being a cheap arse! Besides the PC fair is very cheap on chips so there's no excuse in budget cuts and going overboard on parts.

3.Maintainability
-When it comes to maintaining your hardware it's best not to overclock it , why? Because overclock is just some dumb cosmetic excuse into making killing your own computer sound cool and a necessity. Overclocking damages hardware! It's a fact because overclocking means making your hardware consume more electricity in a more unstable matter thus making the hardware burn out or get damaged due to an overheat or an unstable load of electricity come crashing down on those gold plates you see on your chips making them blow up ( not literally ) and making it complete in death.

-Caring for you computer is essential don't just skip a defrag or a virus scan just because your friends came by your house to play some powerfully demanding games and you can't! Always know that you're defragging because you need to consume less hard disk space and less hard disk space means faster internet , faster gaming , faster everything! A virus scan is essential so essential that if a virus kill your OS it can kill your hardware data too thus making your hardware dead! If you don't want to defrag then buy a SSD ( Solid State Drive ) it's expansive but more efficient the RPM is faster than the old classic hard drives 2000-5000RPM faster making your data faster to read and making gaming faster! Also SSD do not need to defrag , in fact defragging it will cause a placebo so don't! Lastly SSD may not have more space and they hardly reach 500GB of space ( the most now is a 320 GB ) but they yield more power and more convinience to your monthly maintainance by cancelling defrag for life and making virus check 50-80% faster because virus scan speed are based on how fast your hard disk reads it's data and also don't worry about the speed SSD are more safer than classic hard disks.

4.Controls
-Buying fancy gaming mouses and keyboard ain't for FARKS neither is it a waste of money , if you've tried it for some time you'll know it's better than those cheap crap you've been using all these while but do understand that if you don't feel the difference it means you do not need one , I've met people who bought these professional stuff but are too blinded by the influences from thier friends that they eventually could not see the diffence and therefore they just doubt the power of it . SO realize it before buying!

-You should off your sticky keys and all the other irritating stuff that pops out because Microsoft belives that if you off it it's because you have fancy gaming mouses and keyboards and if it's on it mean they want you to stop trashing your cheap keyboard and go buy something that works!

- Controls are affected by hardware , software and the gamer so don't blame the hardware if you suck at shooting , don't blame the software if they do not have controls as you'd desire and don't blame yourself if you can't frag people faster than the others for you only need experience ,strategy and practice to frag people the right way!

So if you want to upgrade your computer , remember the four things you've read just now HARDWARE , FINANCIAL , MAINTAINABILITY AND CONTROLS so that you'll know what you've upgraded thus making you appriciate you dedication to your old machine turned new again! :D

CORNMASTER! :D

Left4Dead Review Part 2: Survival Mode

Today I would like to introduce the Survival Mode in L4D. Basically the players just face hordes and hordes of Infected and Special Infected as well. The goal is to stay alive as long as possible. It's hard and challenging as when you face a horde and are reloading, a Smoker may just suddenly pull you away. Likewise a Hunter can just leap onto you.

Unfortunately, the AI (Artificial Intelligence) aka the bots leave you alone especially if there are two human players. For example, bot Francis got caught by a Smoker and bot Louis goes to save him and gets pounced on by a Hunter while the two human players are fighting a Tank. See what I mean, because since the two human players are together, the bot's priority is the other bot, as he is in trouble. Logical, but a Smoker is less deadly than a Tank.

As the pictures tell, I died after 5mins because a Tank punched me off the cliff. It was also my fault as I was at quite a high spot and I didn't see the Tank.

Back to Survival. To start the game, a player must "Activate the fuel pump". It's kind of like triggering a Panic Event in Normal Mode.

Well, hope more people try it.

N+ (Purely Addicting)

Credits all goes to

katastrophie in Gamefaqs

"Purely Addicting"

When I first saw screenshots of this game I thought this title was going to be quite bad, well I guess I got slapped in the face with the old saying "you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover". N+ is a fun and challenging game that will leave you playing for a long time and causing everyone around you telling you to shut the hell up since you will be shouting at the PSP screen.

The game is very basic, you are a ninja (albeit a very crude one) and your objective is to grab a crystal to open the locked door and go through it all the while gathering some gold for your troubles. You are a jumping master, you can leap from on wall and jump all the way to the next, you can even do the old wall to wall jump, you are a ninja after all. That's basically the goal of the game. There are numerous levels for you to play on each one getting harder than the last, and there is even a level editor in which you can build your own level and even share it on the internet for others to play thanks to it's multiplayer mode. As you play through single player you will unlock more parts to use in the level editor and even unlock new colours for your ninja.

The game starts out quite easy, jump here, grab this, head back and so on. Later on it will pick up and you'll find yourself dodging missiles, lasers, electrified balls, mini bombs, and other little gadgets that will try to hinder your progression, even the levels get longer and become more puzzled base by adding switches to press to open gates to reach your destination. Each level is unique and some are quite interesting and can give you inspiration into making your own level, such as the stage in the game that looks like a dragon. This game is not easy, some levels will frustrate you, but luckily the restart option is very quick and puts you right in the action with lightning like quickness. If you feel like you can't beat a stage just put it down and come back later, it works, that's my advice.

Graphics don't really matter to a game like this, they are very nicely done though. It's nice and simple and the colours are not frustrating on your eyes. The screen for each level usually sticks to your PSP screen meaning that it won't cause a part of the level to disappear when you go to one side of the level which is pretty nice. Music is quite good actually but for some reason I usually just don't hear it, maybe it's the pure concentration on trying to beat the level filling my head.

Overall this game is quite enjoyable and is very addicting once you find your comfort zone. This is what I think, what about you? Don't be afraid to try something new, you just might like it...

Price of Razer equipment in Singapore

This is to some people who said that Razer stuff in Singapore is cheaper than in Malaysia, think again.

The price of the Razer items which I saw (in BEST, Paragon Shopping Centre, Orchard Road) were: -

Razer Krait - S$49.00 = approx. RM120

Razer Lachesis - S$120.00 = approx. RM292

Razer Salmosa - S$49.00 = approx. RM120

Razer Copperhead - S$79.00 = approx. RM192

Razer Diamondback 3G - S$79.00 = approx. RM192

The price of the Command & Conquer 3 : Kane's Wrath DeathAdder bundle was S$89.00 which is about RM216. I bought mine for RM199 if I'm not mistaken.

And I'm sorry I didn't see the prices of the Razer Tarantula or Razer Lycosa Mirror for comparison XD I didn't want anyone to catch me (you are not supposed to bring cameras into the shopping complex)

So my conclusion is that it's cheaper in Malaysia guys!!! Our DeathAdder is now about RM150 when theirs is about RM180-200.

Prince of Persia Review

Have you ever dreamt of a game with open world gameplay , Awesome partner whos a beutiful princess and you could NEVER DIE?! This game is the right one for you! if you're having problems executing fast combos and chaining them and do little benefit to you.

Unlike the old prince of persia series..ubisoft came out in a new story and this had nothing to do with the old prince of persia series...The main character isnt really a prince..the game itself refers him as "prince" and it could be seen in guides , tips and even in the manual. In this game..you had a partner named Elika , she's a princess of the city who seals the evil god of darkness Ahriman in a tree in the temple...Shes like the BEST partner ever..she can kick the enemies ass while pressing triangle and she COULD save you from almost any attack and even if you drop she will save you from almost every ledge you missed.. even if the enemy had knock you down and you press the wrong button and your enemy is gonna end your life...she saves you without FAIL but in return the enemy's life will replenish to like a quarter a bar..

The graphics were awesome for a cell shaded type and looks almost realistic and many casual gamers who are anime fans will love this . Button mashing is a sin in this game and it prevents you from making and chaining more combos so many button mashers who played o2 jam or DJ max will find it complicated and a litlle hard to get used to...The main aim to cell shade the graphics in this game is to let you enjoy the scenery of the entire MAP and giving you even frame rate..

The enemies you were fighting against were known as the "corruption" and they were Ahriman's minions..and each of them were once a high leveled citizen of this city and they turned to Ahriman to their fantasies and end up being his minions...In this game you dont encounter enemies just like Devil May Cry ...you always had to One on One with them and those normal minions came out pretty little and quite sometimes you see them spawning in their area and they had a BIG BOSS like life bar right below you but all u gotta do is either shove them off the cliff or hit em until they die and that will take you quite a while..The map shows the entire region of the city and each and every dot theres a boss fight and theres only 4 bosses...and you had to encounter them over and over again but you had to use diffrent tactics agains them because of the enviromental change..This time you dont have to find your way but Elika could just show you the way and its similar as Isaac Clarke's holographic GPS system..

You could always talk to Elika when you're bored or sometimes after finishing a task by pressing a specific button..The Prince sometimes shows some CONFLICT of INTREST in Elika and slowly in the game you could even find Elika having intrest in the prince too...like when the prince fell down and after saving him...she will be like ' pls dont die when im starting to like you' 'you're lucky (in a sexy tone)' or sometimes when both of you are on a horizontal pole and you need to go to the other way...the way you switch places with Elika is kinda akward ... and Elika will say "haha having fun?' or sometimes if you catch her off the ledge or something she will be like 'hmmm didnt know you're such a gentlemen' and sometimes the Prince will crack out jokes against the enemies or sometimes he whines when Elika holds on to his back while sliding down saying' ARGH! you're heavier than you look!' or 'ouch! dont dig your nails in me'

Overall the gameplay isn't as much as a Hack and Slash and It was more like Assasin's creed One on One with your enemies and its sometimes fustrating to collect power seeds to unlock the next level...but the graphics were great , the framerate is smooth , the enemies are beutifully crafted and designed and you could never die..but its less chalenging and no long loading time ( thats whats the cell shading for)..

the score is..............7/10

This game is recomended for Prince of Persia fans or casual gamers , anime fans , and STRICTLY not for Hardcore people....(cos they would end up whining saying its too easy)

OMFG!

Demos , Demos and MORE DEMOS! THERE JUST SO MANY THINGS TO SEE AND DO ON E3!!!!!

LEFT 4 DEAD 2

HOLY CRAP LEFT 4 DEAD 2!? OMFG! E3's greatest surprise is LEFT 4 DEAD 2 !

THIS ARTICLE FROM ROCKPAPERSHOTGUN.com explains everything and everywhere about Valve's next greatest game LEFT 4 DEAD 2!

Left 4 Dead who now? No one was expecting Valve’s next game to be a sequel to 2008’s awesome co-op zombie shooter, Left 4 Dead. To answer your immediate question: Yes, this is a completely new game, with new characters, in a new location, with new zombies, new weapons, new twists, and an improved Director, in five completely new campaigns set in the Southern United States. This isn’t more maps for the previous game, it’s a brand new game, and it’s due this November. We snuck into Valve HQ ahead of Monday’s announcement and played a full campaign, and at first glance much appears to have evolved.

It’s still Left 4 Dead: Valve have more sense than to change anything that made the first game so splendid. Rather the focus on L4D2 appears to have been the desire by everyone involved in the first game to make something bigger and better. Coming off the back of the project, we were told by various Valve developers, people we bursting with ideas of where to take the game next. So they went right there.

Left 4 Dead 2 takes place in the South of the USA, beginning in Savannah, eventually reaching New Orleans. There’s four new characters to play, each with back-stories to be hinted at in their conversations. Coach is a high school football coach from the Savannah area, used to leading the kids, comfortable in his life, and perhaps not enamoured by the arrival of a zombie attack. There’s Rochelle, from Cleveland originally, working for a cable news network. She’s producing a segment on this strange story occurring in Savannah, and gets caught up in the events. Ellis is a Southern boy mechanic, an enthusiastic but smart guy with a “Southern flair”. Finally there’s Nick, a gambler and a conman, unsure of his company and cynical about the events.

The plan for the five new campaigns is to bring them together more coherently, so you can more obviously see how the events of one lead to the beginning of the next. Nothing that will enormously impact on jumping right in to a game in a particular stage, but giving a stronger narrative logic to the complete game. And with that, the new cast will also develop their personalities as things progress. Coach looks set to gain bravery as he gets closer to New Orleans, while Nick’s attitude to the others may soften. This will be born out in a more elaborate and involved collection of dialogue barks, once more primarily away from the player’s control. Perhaps one of the most endearing aspects of L4D was the characters’ surprisingly apt and timely remarks about the events, and occasional exchanges. This is to be expanded upon, with many more back-and-forth moments of chatter appropriate to the events happening around you.

Beyond the new cast, nothing else from L4D is being replaced, but rather added to or expanded upon. So the Special Infected we’re already familiar with will appear, joined by a new collection. Of these only one has been revealed so far, The Charger. Looking like a crossbreed between a Tank and a Common Infected (what an unholy union that would be) the beast has one giant mutated arm, which he uses to shoulder-charge the Survivors. He knocks you down, but doesn’t incapacitate you. Rather you’re off balance for a moment. As happened to us as we played with Valve designers, he’s capable of taking out many of you in a single charge, sending us flying like bowling pins. However, should he charge someone on their own, rather than running to hide after, instead he might pick you up with his giant arm and repeatedly smash you face-first into the ground until a teammate comes to rescue you.

While other Specials aren’t yet shown, we have seen some changes to the familiar. Rather cutely, some of the Common Infected have been changed while in hazmat suits. This means laying down walls of Molotov cocktail fire won’t keep everyone away any more, as the fire-proof baddies can run right through. The pay-off for this is exploding their heads and seeing the goo splat against the inside of the perspex visor.

But perhaps most exciting is the Wandering Witch. Another new feature of L4D2 is setting some of the campaigns in the daylight. The campaign we played was such, and it’s oddly frightening to see it all happening while the sun shines. Making our way through the sprawling streets of New Orleans, desperately trying to reach a distant bridge at the other end of which was lay an apparent helicopter rescue, the only time we needed our torches was when making our way through buildings. And it seems in the daytime, the Witch has a bit more pep. Rather than sitting crouched, sobbing, singing, now this most terrifying of gaming enemies methodically paces around, wandering where she sees fit, although still apparently zoned out. She may be on foot, but she’s no more interested in being disturbed. This adds in a whole new aspect to Witch evasion. No longer can you simply take the long way around where she’s squatted. Instead, she may well be walking exactly where you’re headed. Or worse, walking up behind you, singing her haunting song, suddenly infuriated by you when you swing around in terror.

The Witch’s capacity to create anecdotes seems only more powerful now. Sitting down to grab some food with a collection of Valve, stories about their most frightening or plain inconvenient Wandering Witch stories flow freely, each explained in animated terms.

Of the new weapons, perhaps the most exciting reveal are the melee tools. So far we’ve seen the axe and the frying pan. Yes, the frying pan. Feeling like a sneaky bit of TF2 in the game, it’s the perfect comedy weapon, that somehow doesn’t feel irreverent in a way inappropriate to L4D’s more sullen world. Complete with a fantastic KWAPANG noise, it’s extraordinarily effective to bat your way through crowds, and can even be used to knock a Hunter off a pinned Survivor. There’s also a baseball bat, which didn’t appear in the campaign we saw, which we assume will be a little less bonky than TF2’s Scout’s. And the chainsaw, which again we haven’t played with, but hell: there’s going to be a chainsaw. The axe can’t go unexplained either. It’s utterly brutal, and shows off the Infected’s newly regioned vulnerability. Swing it low and you can slice off a zombie’s legs, letting them collapse horribly to the ground, bleeding out of their fresh stumps. Or maybe swipe off either arm. Or most horrendously of all, remove a face.

This same gore is achievable with all the weapons, with new ragdoll deaths for the throngs, to make their entrail-spilling, armpit-dribbling, face-exploding ways all the more entertaining. There were many gasps and cries of “OH GOOD GRIEF!” as we played, the strings of guts slopping wildly into the air, or as mentioned above, the faceless leaking mess suddenly bursting like a blood-filled balloon as the Infected fell to the floor. It’s awesome.

There’s a new shotgun, a new semi-automatic, and a brand new sniper rifle. This last one feels dramatically out of place in a game where you can’t stand still, but it seems extremely likely that this will be the weapon that will be used most skilfully. Obviously powerful, it’s a very useful tool when you find yourself in one of the new “gauntlet” moments.

Gauntlets are one of the new elements that will occur, as one of many moves to attempt to make L4D2 a more consistently thrilling experience. In the final moments of the campaign, finally reaching the bridge, we had to cross it. At the other end lay the potential of rescue. But it was one long, straight, inescapable path down which the Director was able to screw with us as much as ‘he’ liked. Standing still was never and option, but trying to stay high, jumping from roof to roof of the vans and cars, very much was. Someone sniping from the back here proves helpful, while a couple of at the front wielding axes or frying pans was equally effective. These make for interesting moments, an almost unrelenting onslaught from in front, but the peculiar safety of knowing that nothing you didn’t let get past you would be attacking from behind.

Another very smart change is to prevent sneaky players from trying to sit out the triggered events. In those moments in L4D where you had to press a button that began a frantic attack until an elevator arrived, or a door opened, it seems too many were crouching in a corner together and waiting for it to all die down. L4D2 has plans to prevent such treachery. Now some of the events you start can only be stopped by reaching a further target. In an extremely tense sequence, we had to make our way through a labyrinth of alarmed cars to reach a distant point that would finally see the attack fade. Trying desperately to avoid hitting any of the cars, and thus making the situation far worse, while having to make constant forward progress, amped things up significantly.

The Director even has discretion over the layout of certain sections of levels. In New Orleans we reached a graveyard that is different each time you play. As Valve explained to us, if the Director gives you a pretty straight route right through it, it’s an insult to how poorly you’ve been playing that the omnipotent AI thought it needed to make things a little easier for you. If you’ve won his robotic respect, then it’ll be a far more convoluted journey.

While there’s no intention to waste players’ time with dead ends, there is a greater emphasis on rewarding exploration. You may well learn the correct route through most of a level, but heading off down a longer pathway, or going to check out an out of the way room, is more likely to be beneficial. The Director is, we’re told, going to be far smarter this time about placing items, and the selection of these has expanded as well. Which includes the incendiary ammo.

Oh, what a pleasure it is to find these beauties. Like an ammo stash, incendiary bullets can be picked up from tables, etc, and will give you a clip of ammo for your current weapon that will set absolutely everything it hits on fire. Which is spectacular. Right up until you accidentally set a Charger alight and he comes bounding toward you to share it.

Everything seems bigger and better. And this includes the number of Infected to kill. The average number taken down in a campaign in the first game was around 1000. In our play through one of the sequel’s five new chapters we clocked up around 1700.

Due November 17th this year, it’s quite remarkable that it’s so far on already. And frankly, that of all developers Valve have made something this quickly is almost dizzying. While there’s obviously going to be something of a fuss made over people’s expectations that L4D would be constantly expanded for free, following the TF2 model, it’s important to stress that while this is obviously still the same L4D core experience, it’s certainly not a bunch of new maps thrown into the old game. It’s a coherent new imagining of the game, this time bigger, smarter, and far more elaborate. Oh, and gloriously more gory.

To find out even more details, be sure to listen to our world exclusive developer interview with project lead, Chet Faliszek, in the latest podcast.

PRESS RELEASE

VALVE ANNOUNCES LEFT 4 DEAD 2

Sequel to Best-Selling Co-op Thriller Coming This Holiday

June 1, 2009 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced Left 4 Dead 2 (L4D2), the sequel to the best-selling and critically-acclaimed co-operative multiplayer thriller.

Coming exclusively to Xbox 360 and PC, L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-operative action games and become one of 2009’s marquee titles.

“A large part of how Left 4 Dead became 2008’s top-selling new IP on Xbox 360 and the PC was the custom-tailored gameplay made possible by the AI Director,” said Gabe Newell, president and co-founder of Valve. “With the knowledge gained from creating the original, new technology, and a passionate team, L4D2 will set a new benchmark for cooperative action games.”

Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more.

Introducing the AI Director 2.0, L4D’s dynamic gameplay is taken to the next level by giving the Director the ability to procedurally change weather effects, world objects, and pathways in addition to tailoring the enemy population, effects, and sounds to match the players’ performance. The result is a unique game session custom fitted to provide a satisfying and uniquely challenging experience each time the game is played.

Featuring new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, and maps for Survival mode available at launch.

Supported by a $10+ million marketing campaign, Left 4 Dead has sold over 2.5 million retail copies since it was released in November of 2008. Left 4 Dead 2 is targeted for release on Xbox 360 and the PC on November 17, 2009, and will be launched worldwide with a multi-million dollar marketing campaign across TV, Outdoor, and Online.

“Left 4 Dead was backed by our most aggressive advertising campaign to date, and resulted in a top 5 showing on two platforms during holiday 2008,” said Doug Lombardi, VP of marketing at Valve. “Left 4 Dead 2 is a larger game and will be supported with even more consumer and retail advertising programs than the original.”

Left 4 Dead 2 will be featured as the cover story on PC Gamer and Official Xbox Magazines this month. For more information, please visit www.l4d.com
